Donostia is Science
Description
In 2025, the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Throughout these five decades, it has played a pivotal role both in the advancement of scientific research and in promoting a culture of innovation in Donostia-San Sebastián and the Basque Country. Four highly relevant research centers have emerged from the work of its scientists, namely, CIDETEC, Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC), Materials Physics Center (CMF/MFZ) and POLYMAT. In addition to this, a large number of its researchers are recognized leaders in their respective fields. Proof of this are the seven researchers awarded the prestigious Euskadi Research Prize. This anniversary provides an exceptional opportunity to celebrate these achievements with other key players in the city’s scientific community. In this way, it is expected to stablish new collaborations between the Faculty and other Research Centers in Donostia – San Sebastián, consolidating the existing links between the scientific community of the City to address future challenges.
