Submission period open for the 44th Summer Courses
Submissions can be sent in from 1 to 30 November through the UIK online platform.
After the end of the successful 43rd edition, the UPV/EHU Summer Courses Foundation (UIK) is starting to prepare for next year.
The 2025 UPV/EHU Summer Courses will be held from 15 June to 15 September and, as has become customary, UIK is inviting stakeholders from different areas of society to send in their submissions.
The UIK's goal is to bring the University of the Basque Country to citizens and provide lifelong learning, along with awareness-raising, reflecting on and discussing topics that are important to society. Thanks to its robust track record, the Summer Courses have become a benchmark for meeting and participation.
As a meeting point for the transfer of knowledge, the aim is to profile a quality offering aimed at all citizens, and working with different stakeholders when preparing the programme is strategic for UIK. By way of example, the courses that have just ended were possible thanks to a network of 280 organisations from different spheres.
The submissions received will be analysed by the Summer Courses Programme Committee and their assessment will consider the interest and topicality of the proposed themes, along with the quality and coherence of the papers and content. As regards quality knowledge, UIK gives great importance to the impact of the research on society, particularly of that conducted at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
In keeping with its commitment to innovation, UIK is focused on driving new methodologies for the format and the way the activities are organised. In-person and/or live online courses can be held; apart from the usual formats, the aim is to continue encouraging the use of participation dynamics by means of workshops and applied courses. In that regard, UIK has a help guide on how to incorporate participatory methodologies. The guide is available in the regulations.
Attracting more young people to the Summer Courses is a constant challenge for UIK. Accordingly, it continues to be firmly committed to working on innovative topics and formats, and to offering grants to attract young people.
As far as languages are concerned, language diversity will be fostered to convey knowledge using the translation services when necessary and there will be support to encourage the presence of the Basque Language.
All the information required for the organisation of the Summer Courses is available in the regulations.
