Topological Matter: From Basic to Advanced (TMS17)
Descripción
Topology and lattice symmetries play a key role in determining matter states and their associated internal order. These so-called topological states of matters are of fundamental interest, since they entail exotic electronic behaviors. The study and prediction of materials with novel topological properties has become a vibrant field of research over the past few years. The 2017 school includes a session explaining practically how to perform a numerical quantum transport calculation of topological systems with KWANT. It includes also a review session of the major experimental achievements in the field. Finally, there is a special session about the connection between high energy physics and the field of topological matter.
Organizing committee

Maia G. Vergniory (Donostia International Physics Center / UPV/EHU — Bilbao)
Jérôme Cayssol (LOMA — Bordeaux)
Objetivos
The main goal is to cover basic and advanced aspects of the field of Topological Matter. The school is primarily aimed at instructing master and graduate students and young postdoctoral researchers. However, more senior scientists who want to acquaint themselves with the subject of the school are also welcome.
